Choose one of the following methods, depending on your preference and portion required. If using method B or C, use two times water to rice by volume. For best results, rinse thoroughly in a sieve under cold running water.
1. Open Pan
Bring a large pan of water to boil. Add the rice stir, return to a medium boil & cook uncovered for 10 minutes. Drain and rinse.
2. Covered Pan
Put measured rice and cold water into a heavy-based pan.
Bring to boil, stir, cover and turn down the heat to simmer for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it simmer with lid on, till each grain separates and swells.
3. Microwave
Put measured amount of rice and cold water into a deep microwavable bowl. Cover with cling film, pierce it in few places. Cook on high for 6 minutes, uncover and stir. cover it again and cook on defrost for 6 minutes. For best result no more than 12oz. (300g) uncooked rice should be cooked at a time.
Combined Method: First boil according to method (A) but only for 7 minutes, drain in a sieve and rinse well with cold water. Transfer to a microwavable bowl, put aside until required. To reheat, cover and cook in a microwave oven on high for 3-4 minutes.
